Laser uses a specific wavelength of coherent light to treat specific skin conditions, which include scars, wrinkles, and unwanted hair.
Non-ablative lasers such as Nd: YAG laser is able to accurately and specifically target a particular condition in the skin. It can be used to eliminate redness, unwanted blood vessels or hair, without affecting the surrounding normal skin. It can also be used for skin tightening or collagen stimulating treatments.
This type of lasers is used for skin resurfacing, removing the top layer of skin. This allows skin to renew itself, and stimulates collagen production to reduce wrinkles, tighten skin, and improve skin texture. Fractional resurfacing has the benefit of more rapid healing.
How Does It Work To Get Better Skin?
Laser treatments use a focused beam of light that has just one color, which is absorbed selectively by a given target (pigment, blood, or water in tissue). Depending on the condition, certain colors are used for specific conditions, the selected light destroys the target or problem tissue component (pigment, hair, vessel) or removes the uppermost level of skin to stimulate renewal of the skin and collagen production.
